Dear Rocky,
How I love this film - Notting Hill. When I was teaching English in Spain, there was a language magazine that used to sell video tapes of movies with subtitles. The number of times I made my classes watch Notting Hill.....
I adore so many parts from this movie:
The flatmate - everything about him!
The book store attendant - everything about him!
Julie Robert's outfit when the orange juice is spilt on her
Hugh Grant saying Ooopsy Daisies....
But my favourite part, and my favourite relationship is the one between two characters we never meet - June and Joseph. I would like a love like theirs.
I give Notting Hill 9/10.
What do you think Rocky?

I love that bench and everything that it represents as well. :-)
ReplyDeleteI've tried twice to watch Notting Hill and have yet to make it all the way through. Maybe I just need to be in the right mood.
ReplyDeleteHaha, you know Nemo took me like 6 attempts....
Delete"Notting Hill" is a smart comedy. We don't seem to have many of those these days. How did you use it in English class? via A to Z Challenge
ReplyDeleteIt's so true isn't it Glenda. We would watch the video - it had sub-titles. We'd stop it along the way to discuss the language/slang etc. It was a good way of teaching conversation.
DeleteA fun film. A really interesting post. Thank you so much, nice to follow and connect through atozchallenge.
